Peace Corps Community Archive
Peace Corps Iran Association (PCIA) is an organization of Returned Peace Corps Volunteers (RPCVs) who served in Iran between 1962 and 1976, as well as Peace Corps Iran staff, trainers, family members, and all who are interested in the legacy of Peace Corps Iran. PCIA was founded in 2011 and will sunset in 2026 due the finite and shrinking population of the group since the Peace Corps has not been active in Iran since 1976. This collection contains selections from the physical collection contributed by PCIA Historian Genna Wangsness. As PCIA Historian, Wangsness had been collecting Peace Corps Iran materials from her fellow RPCVs for several years before donating them to the Peace Corps Community Archive.
