Good morning. You are listening to frost radio. We're sitting in studio with myself Dan and my co-conspirator Chris. Hey today we have. Show lined up. Basically, we're going to listen to some pre-recorded interviews. Some of you may have already heard them before but we felt that they're worth hearing again. So we're going to start to show off and go straight to an interview that was conducted outside of the men's shelter. Probably about a month and a half ago in the rain Anthony ball, and I sat and we discussed some of Issues that were important and he sees as relevant today. And if you listen to frost radio each week, we bring various Street theorists and cultural Alchemists onto the air. This is a Anthony ball. All right, this is Dan Carter. I'm sitting here with Anthony ball. He's in fact, one of the original Minds that pushed getting this show, radio show Frost radio on to the air. He's pushed to ensure that the homeless have a voice and not only that they have a voice that that voice is Amplified. He's been on the streets off and on throughout the 90s. And he's learned a lot about the way Society operates from this perspective. And hopefully while we have them with us, he could share some of the knowledge that he's gained and give us a new perspective on what is in fact going on here in Cleveland. So we could start off maybe and you want to give us give us some background. Some of your own personal background and and How you ended up on the street Anthony? Well, I don't have what you want to call as a Royal Red Carpet type of background. I had, you know, had a real pretty bad upbringing Forest, family. My family's for was basically broken up when I was young and it up in institutions. And I had a lot of people, taking care of me, not know, one that I can really trust at that time. And that's basically how my life went. It went for bouncing from one place to one, sort or another. And eventually, I ended up getting caught with the wrong crowd. Ended up with the wrong people. And I got into some trouble and I went and did some time. But during this time, one of the spots that I would too. They didn't really have anything far as Rehabilitation as far as, you know, learning any kind of skills or, or hands on something that I could use that, that get out of prison and come back out to the street and see what the state or the parole board. All they do is give you a vehicle E7 $75. When you walk out the door. Door and I give you anything far as a place to stay or give you a guide or mode you somewhere. When you coming back out into society. So basically when I walked out the doors, I had that $75 and then got on had to spend another 15 20 hours of that just to get on the Greyhound. And then plus, you don't have to eat a little bit but basically coming back into town and seeing how things have changed as far as the rich get richer. And them seeing that the poor, the poor gets poor far as housing or any place that matter or just trying to baby to maintain a certain status quo. When I came back here, was nearly impossible to do. The reason why? Is because I did not have any ID or any kind of convention when I first got out of prison, so I had to go to the Social Security office. I tried to go to the welfare building and because I didn't have one individual piece of paper. They were denying me all of this asset. So, I took what I need to be able to gain some type of recognition that I'm in the city or having a player, getting a place to stay or anything. You can't do anything without an ID. Basically, I started going to shelters because everybody was slamming, the door on my face and my me having a criminal background. It seemed like, with, I wanted to go for a job. Anybody want to know my background? If I try to get a place or by having the kind of money. I will talk with different people. It would look at me. Like I was basically nobody. But as far as me being homeless out here on these streets, all that I'm seeing from what I see in front of my eyes is entertaining, all the buildings down and building up hotels, you know, they're talking about building new Convention Center, you know, the Cleveland Hopkins airports talking about expanding and knocking down an iac's Center, but you don't never hit anything in the news about them, trying to build houses for people living on the streets. You can afford it. It seems like every year or the year or maybe the years to come that your little small efficiency is running, you anywhere between 350 and $300 a month knowing that it only should be only 250 to 200 dollars a month. Far as the value of human life was concerned. It seems to me more people are greedy rather than trying to help somebody with a place to stay. Even when you come down to the shelters, and then I guess you have to learn how to get along. Along with some of your peers at the shelter and sometimes they don't happen all the time because they anybody stressed, you know, everybody's going through a lot of turmoil, you know, getting shut doors here. And shut doors there. And then at the end of the day, everybody can power their frustrations. That's hard to do really, to deal with, on an everyday basis at you. Come down here. I feel that If I had a good chance to be able to really speak my mind, one of my famous, having one of my dreams is it's a baby to be in Washington DC and to be able to stand up there with that president of that Washington who know what you call him, but he he's like the president and the White House. I want to be able to sit in his chair. Not to be the president of the United States, but the sit back and tell everybody what truly needs to be done. We had to put value back. Giving human life because all I'm seeing is that Farsi. Hmas concern housing. They will not accept you. If you have a criminal background, they saying you don't have a right to be able to have a place because you don't got in trouble, you could go to any organization out here when they talk about the United Way, was supposed to be the good hands, people that we come together to help you. But then when you call down and you ask them that, you need a place and you're trying to get some money to may be depleted deposit or something like that. Turning you down, you're being forced to go to these Temporaries was only pay you $30 a day, less than that. And that's all it is. It's eating money. I mean, basically, from what I see is that these programs that they have out here. They get money, the government that money or the government give these people money to fund these programs, but rather than to take that money and actually put it off into a real housing unit for those ones. Who live on the street? It take it. Putting it on pockets and doing whatever they doing with it. Because of that to case their these shelter wouldn't be here. We all have a place to stay. I don't get me wrong. There's some people out here who likes to do their little drugs, get high blow the little money can't get along with nobody. Hey, you know, I can understand that happens out here, but we can't make that as a justification to, to not help. The multitude of people who really truly is trying to do something for themselves and get themselves back on their feet and trying to get a place. Because every time that I hear, Something about housing or this and that somebody always coming out and they talking about drugs. There's drugs that drug this, well, really tired of hearing about that. You don't think of Zelda, seems to me. And you just making that an excuse, just an excuse to, to say, you're not going to do nothing for nobody. Well, if you getting all this money, then what are you doing? I mean, Salvation, Army has they got a nice spot here, whatever the case may be, but you got a lot of people who don't wash. Don't take care of themselves. They stink at me. It's very bad. About the third at the health is the health and Food and Drug Administration came down here. They will have to shut this place down because it's inhuman to be trying to live a certain things like that, but we can't make that as an excuse to try to help the ones who do watch their body. I'll keep themselves clean. Let me tell you something about the human body. The human body. It works. It sleeps. It does everything that the brain tell her to do. But if when you're homeless out here, you walking these streets trying to figure out a place where you going to either rest your head or just take a rest, your body can only go for so long and then after that, you might end up falling asleep in the bus, stop, but the only thing you're going to wake up to us cops. And if they telling you, if you don't move on, you're going to get trespass, you know, there's many a homeless people that I met when I was in jail for in the county jail downtown here that were just basically being, you know, arrested because they were at the wrong place, trying to get some rest not hurting anybody. But you gotta understand these are human. They got to go to sleep. Ain't no Yuma. In the world can stay up 24 hours a day for 365 days. A year. It's just simply impossible. We've got to have a place to rest. The body needs this but seemed like people trying to overlook these type of things and I'll never I'll never understand it, you know. Basically far as jobs are concerned, you know, I all the time be downtown. I see these construction, guys, build these big buildings and fixing on the railroad tracks or, you know, doing a whole bunch of things. Make it good money or whatever the case may be. But who says that I got to have a college degree to will Barrel dirt back and forth to the truck. So he could do what he want. I mean I could be making this is good enough money, you know, I can't even afford to go to school. How am I? Go to school and I'm homeless out here. Hi, my don't baby to be even in, sort out, certain things that I need to do because I can't even rest my head. I'm just sitting up here, worried about wash rag and some soap or how I'm going to clean my body. I'm worried about things that you necessarily the Necessities that you have to have on an everyday level. So if you don't have these type of things, it can really deter you from your ultimate goal. Unless somebody truly helps you push you in a place to stay when you can. Can rest your hair and you can think and you could do what you need to do in order to make it out here. But nine times out of 10 every day that I wake up. I got to walk a country mile, every time I get 10 miles down the road. I'm hungry again. I gotta find somewhere to eat or if I gotta just take a leak. I'll take a crap. I got to figure out what a bathroom is, or I might be trespassing. There's a lot of places that will simply let you use their bathrooms. You got to sneak in. It's not everybody that's out here on these streets. Want to be out here on these streets. By the grace of God, I had landed me a job. And that is that still doesn't give me no credibility by having this job. Why? Because a lot of people that I have told have dealt with know that I have a job, but have they still offered me a place to stay knowing that I got some money coming and I can pay, you know, they want to see the greenback's first. It's the world that we live in its greed. It's about power. It's about Authority. Nobody is really looking at the actual matter of trying to figure out the Options. I listen to a lot of talk radio's, you know, I've been to a lot of meetings for homelessness and went to a board meeting when Brian Davidson. Yaeko North Northeast. Ohio Coalition for the homeless, the trying to get them out of project, he can get them down here. But you know, what is it all for if nothing's going to be done on West 25th. Old West 25th there, right away. When you get across the Detroit bridge, and you're going towards your left. As you go down towards the market, you take the, you know, turn your head to the left and notice they used to be some chm and housing there, but now they wipe them all out. What happened to all them. People have fun. Probably on the street. I think we need to be fighting for each, and every individual who's homeless or has a felon background. We need to be fighting. And in the snow, with needs to be, it needs to be said, all right, to live. We have a right to live. We shouldn't Who said that we got to come out and be directly on the street and sleep, right? On the curb. We have a right to a bed. Just like everybody else. Do we have a right to privacy just like everybody else do? What are we going to start talking about? The real issues here? Because I don't never here when I'm listening to other people. Oh, I remember how you used to be and what's happening now, but this is all that you hear from all this time. Nobody has any control in certain things have been, you know, done to To help a little bit far as voicemail, but, you know, they got this voicemail now, right? And you can leave messages and I'm eating, or somebody can call leave a message for you and stuff like that. But what good is it going to do? If you're not getting the message that you ought to lie here? A place to live. I mean I have talked to got messages on my email on the internet and I still haven't had anything to tell me that. Hey bro. I'm going to have me a place to stay. My whole objective is to have a bathroom just like you, but if I'm getting the bathroom, no as To walk into a situation, a very hostile situation at the shelter because I don't get along with a few people and everybody's looking at anybody in a you know a way that you just can't appreciate on the everyday level but I tasted because I got no choice but to take it right now. I really don't want to go in there, you know, but I'm going and I tried my best to deal with the problems that I'm going through. But will there ever be a day where somebody will really step up to the plate and really help somebody? I doubt it. I don't really think it's going to happen because we live in a system. That's too much greed and too much power. You got to have you know, you got to have that real estate. You gotta buy as much land as you can, you know, and then look what Cleveland Clinic. David Craig, Untold out, everything that used to be a place for low-income housing over there. Just to build a better hospital to make more money. I understand it for health reasons, but I don't think, but you're hurting somebody the same time. You're helping somebody, I don't believe. Even the stuff like that. I believe if you're going to do a project have a project to replace something that you took down to help folks to continue to keep going. That's the name of that tune. But these things you don't hear nothing about, you know, I used to write in the paper for the Grapevine. We're just for the Brian Davis, Northeast, Ohio Coalition for the homeless and he wouldn't even let me write certain things. You know, it's certain things that it needs to be said, it needs to be done and my ultimate goal is for this tape or For my voice to be right in the mayor's ear. I mean, ears with Pioneers were 350 watts in his ears. I want that the pump it in his head real strong that I won't that take forwarded to Washington along with the speakers to. So they can absolutely here. The importance of the real issues. I don't really want to hear anything about the deficit. I don't want to hear anything about the arms race. I don't want to be here. Anything that don't have no real value to Human life. I mean, these people they sit back and they vote themselves hike and pay, you know what I'm saying? Because it shows you that it doesn't really mean anything for the Lord man, because the Lord man is, if that's the case, then how come they couldn't vote to have us have a place to stay the prices and everything is too outrageous. For a person, look, that's living out here. Who's 55 to 60 years old, who needs a nursing home, I guess. Take you right now. So you have some people who are in wheelchairs running around here outside all night long. The government has shut down. All the mental hospital has used to be because they cut the funding. Are you going to cut the funding over somebody who's mentally inclined and can't really do for himself, but has to be looked after and when you cut the money like that for somebody who needs to be looked after, and you're really saying to yourself that you really don't give a damn about this person hell with that, we can take Money and put it over here. We'll just throw there by the street. You know, this is the kind of world that I'm seeing that we live in about grieving, and materialistic and power. And that's the reason why I look the Cleveland Ohio. It's really one of the, what the 676, fifth, one of the biggest city in Ohio and all we got is one shelter for no more than about. Maybe. I don't know, a thousands maybe 300 thousand, thirteen hundred guys somewhere that I don't know. So maybe less than that for what? I know. No, but look, it's only one shooter. What happened to all the ones? Who ain't in there? What about the ones? Who sleep in a little? Make who little tits on a little boxes on somewhere, around up in the curb. Do you get me? Does anybody care that they might not wake up the next day? Or did y'all hear anything about the homeless man? That was found dead in the garbage bin? Because he folded up that night. Did anybody hear about these little incidents? No, because they had, they wasn't important enough for anybody really worn enough to make a change. That's why, but when the president gets shot or giant kept checks himself into a rehab, everybody knows, you know, somebody with some super stardom that babies will highlight with the media and all this. They get the grant, the grant, the Grand Ballroom treatment, but when it comes to the low man on the totem pole, he gets nothing. Regardless of whether this person doesn't have any educational background or some kind of college degree or anything in that fashion and they say, if you don't get what technology will be left behind, but I don't believe in that. I believe in that they can have as many of jobs outside of working with a computer because we're human beings. We still use our hands, our feet, and our mouths, to do a whole bunch of things. So, a computer. Remember we created the computer so we could take the computer and put it back in the garbage, too. Value is not the computer. It's the human life. I was talking to a guy today and it was Marco Mike and I really, I guess, I'm really kind of happy for him in a sense because some rich guy offered to put this man in a thousand dollar-a-month place. Now, he's in the dormitory and now he's going to school and I was just telling a friend of mines that I think it was wrong for that for that individual only help one individual. When I feel that he could, at least help the multitude. While we were riding around, I showed how this could have been done. You could have started a program, where has some schooling. We're the ones who wanted to want to help themselves. Could have walked in here 10 to 12 dozens, you know, but everybody gets a lucky break, but I kind of wish that it would have been more on a higher scale than that. Some people might get lucky and get themselves together, but we know every day, we wake up this homelessness out here and of problems are not truly being solved and forearms the ones who do the job. Drugs and things like that, it, you know, we can't really help them. They're going to continue to kill themselves, but we can help the ones who want to help themselves. And that's the, you know, that in the ones that that's out here is trying to do better for themselves. I think we need to fight the landlords and all these these price gouging on the rent. I think we need to come up with laws to make sure it stays at a certain level. I don't think no one should walk or be on the streets, especially in the cold night and no place to take a bath or even use the bathroom. Think about that. Let's get that problem solved. Don't want to hear nothing about the deficit or the Dow Jones or anybody's computer or anything in that fashion. I don't want to hear none of that. I want to hear things that actually being done to cut the rate down or people coming down to the Salvation are going to 2100 Lakeside. Yeah, and that's precisely what is not happening right now. You've been out here for how long? Well, me. Basically. I've been out here, basically my whole life because what I mean by out here is that I never really had no real stable place. I was bounced around in my earlier days, go on the streets then and off the street, but you got to remember, I was young. I'm like a sheep without a Shepherd. There was no one to guide me and I was kind of wild at that time, but see as Get older, we get wiser and we don't have that playful mentality or to do the things that we do, you know, when we were younger. Now, all I want to do is have stability and structure. Just give me a place, be content, you know, baby to wash my hands when I get ready to go to sleep, when I get ready to I can't do these things right now. I got to go ahead of my couple of bags on my back. Can I got to go deal with some people? I don't want to be dealing with but I put up with it because I'm trying to make myself get myself better than what I am. I. So bottom line is if you had Put under the pressure, but it would be nice for somebody. Out here, would take the pressure off and they have the means to take the pressure off. Hmm. Seems like it's getting worse right now. Huh? Is that all you have to do is take a look in front of you and see that it's getting worse. I mean, all you got to do is just go, go go, look around, go downtown or go up in the any Community with a building up all his other stuff instead. He was truly tearing everything. It's down and ain't nobody talking about helping. Nobody these days. Only worried about is Heidi. Going to look at Mayor Michael White and city council fighting over how to budget or the money's going to be spent. I mean, yeah, they put it off into the streets and sewers and but they don't really put it off of that because they did, we wouldn't have all these pipe break, break it with water, flooding up, everything. I mean, Common Sense tells you that the people who was running the show are doing it for themselves to gain. Gain, any kind of political fight is because if they're taking somebody money out, their pockets are going to fight to make sure it stays and that's what the real squabbles all about. Because it's not about the people, it's about what they could get for themselves. Why else would you build a gun Arena and Jacobs Field and say the hell with the schools? Come on, nine times out of 10. It tells you right then and there what time it is with the city. They want money. They want anything. They can to remain in power and you look downtown and you still look at this. Already building. Oh, you look at to Terminal Tower or any of them big vast buildings. You looking at basically, it's like a big Monopoly board. You're looking at kingdoms, you know, you're looking at downtown to me. We can sit at your board boardwalk and Park Place, you know, they were all the Billionaire's, you know, the bulk of the money and and they wear the suit and ties and suitcase, very or business-wise. And you got the cops there to make sure no longer and Dior Homme, this don't rest on their doorstep. I mean, these people have made themselves God and he even forgot who they are. You know I'm saying? They're just humans. Just like a homeless man. Is it has to use the bathroom. They have to pee dad to do the whole nine yards. Foster human body is concerned. Maybe they might have the benefit sylheti, but they still had to do to say the and they have to go to sleep. So, you know, you never should treat nobody or exalt yourself over nothing human being you should try to remain humble but under the circumstances. I don't see anything out here for us getting bad. All I see if this is getting worse and just like last year, when the Homeless was having a protest on the Square but instead of Mike Michael White, which is supposed to be the married come down and try to back them up and get things together. So people to have place to you live. He comes down with a SWAT team that throws everybody in jail me, you know, you can see what kind of morals kids is these. People voted this man in? You know what I'm saying? So he does this kind of stuff to another human being and I told me right then. And there you've been listening to Anthony ball and if you got cut off, but basically he was talking about in the end that tells you that it's all about greed, these days. It's not about the value of human life. From here, we're going to cut on into, I will never change, you know, right? No. Alright from here. What we're going to do is do go into another interview, the interview conducted on Public Square. Done about a year and a half ago and the interviews with a man named James Curry. He's going to talk about trying to get by on minimum wage. My name is James. I've been attached. I wasn't able to get a loan. So what people messed up? You want anything else there? What do you think of this? So you think the solution to homelessness are creating better jobs, higher paying jobs a job right away. Cellular phones and all this stuff? You don't have no experience. Do you think the situation has gotten worse? You've been listening to James Curry, and you are listening to frost radio. Both James, Curry and Anthony ball are talking about how the situation is. In fact, getting worse. That interview was conducted actually last year and that was before we've seen the downturn in the economy. So things were getting bad before the tech Market started going to pot. And there are getting worse still as we speak today. So we have an announcement here. Not great. No, and Ruby. Dee is going to be talking about why a war on the poor. Mia abu-jamal. Those words have been censored. Prison officials have banned his voice and so I will read to you. One of his essays, the rich Rob, the poor, and the poor Rob each other Sojourner Truth. Why did the government launched? Its attack on the welfare system? What was behind its rhetoric. If you analyze it closely, you'll find the push for this policy came from American Business. He is why the business Cycle is crucial to capitalist economies, back in 1958 and Economist noted. That when unemployment Rises wages fall. This is so because when most workers are employed, business is pressed to react to wage demands. However, when there is significant unemployment business knows they can find labor and lower wages. Thus unemployment drives down wages for all workers. Hers, what does this have to do with welfare? Well, welfare is a form of Income Maintenance. And as such it served as a buffer between the employed and the unemployed there for workers were not desperate for any job. They could find when workers are not desperate. When they have security. They demand higher wages from Capital, who would have thought that the poorest Among Us. Those on welfare strengthened and stabilized. Wages of workers. It's for this reason that Capital launched its attack on Income Maintenance programs through its political agents, Republicans and Democrats. Using the sleight-of-hand label of welfare reform. Both parties are big business joined hands in the battle against the poorest egged on by Big Business Media conglomerates. Why do you think every time news comes out about low unemployment walls, Street panics and stocks tumble. Well, masses of people are unemployed that's called good for business. How can bad for people? Be good for business? So what is to be done? The French unemployed took to the streets nationally. This remarkable mobilization showed the power of a movement of unemployed that movement leaped across the border to Germany, where March has sprung up. Over 200 cities. We can learn from the French who did not hesitate to organize and mobilize the poor and unemployed. The slogan of the French may not translate well to us here, but it Bears repeating. in, this is frost radio. Let me just a quick update. You on some of my own research. If you are interested in learning about movements of the unemployed. You can as Ruby Dee talks about look at what's going on in places such as France or Germany. And you can also peruse through the library, go to Cleveland State University Collection special collections in their Cleveland press. And you can look up unemployment in the Special collection and see what sorts of things occurred in Cleveland in the 1930s. One thing that you will see consistently throughout the 30s is that there were people who were doing protest Mass protests on Public Square, with tens of thousands of people. I'm City Hall steps and in City Hall. Council chambers in the neighborhoods. As people were continually getting evicted, there would be groups organized in neighborhoods across the city, who would move them back in and would fight with the sheriff's deputies, to prevent the removal of the furniture, when the sheriff deputies would leave, they would put the furniture back in and, and basically get people in the Eats to protest that part of the reason why I'm relaying. This is because both Anthony ball. He talked about how things are not getting better. They're getting worse recently, George. Zeller at the on, this information comes via Priscilla. Cooper in her recent talk at a forum that was held at peace house or the Friends Meeting House. This past Thursday, in which I was involved along with Priscilla, Cooper and Priscilla Cooper talked about how That statistics are now showing that we are, in fact, have entered into a recession. And a recession is defined by three straight months of economic retraction, and according to George. Zeller. This is something. We have not heard in the mainstream media, but that is, in fact exactly what has happened in the past three months is that there has been economic retraction again about my own research. Search, I was just perusing through the newspapers of the 1930s or early 30s through the late 30s and you would be surprised in Reading those papers. How much people talk about how wonderful times are, how times are improving how things aren't, as bad as they seem in the paper, how more jobs are on their way. And you wouldn't know there was a recession if it wasn't for or a depression as Now, all four well recognized and that the eventually they did come to recognize after the fact, if it wasn't for the people on the streets, people organized. Once again, we're going to take another different Tack and tie it in back into some of the earlier interviews with this interview is another interview that was conducted on Public Square and it was conducted about a year about a year ago actually year and a half ago and it is an interview I conducted with Hakeem Rahman, Ali and Going to be talking about some more issues that we have been related to the war on the poor. My name is Hakeem Rahman, Ali. And I was had a great interest in the homeless people here in Cleveland. And I think it's a trustee. Had it been doing done now because what's happened now? Oh, is there pushing them all into one unit and not giving them? Individuality is difficult for homeless people to rise out of the situation there and because the quarter been a Dogma Circle and they don't have any partnership for education or housing food. The food that is given to him like the like on Sundays here. I think this is a great program because this is a vegetarian meal. And they should be in, well, better than they are at the other places that they eat at. Not saying that the places that they have aren't well, but it's not well enough for homeless people. They need more vegetables, more vitamins are nutrients. I look at some of the places that they sleep at night and a lot of them are dangerous and then the police run them from the safe places to dangerous places, so which is bad and they need to be kept into a more safe. Environment. Now that I hear that the Salvation Army is going to take over the programs that they have form is going to be even more difficult for the guys that don't have proper ID. There are alcohol, addicted, drug addicted, and these people need help too. So they have these problems. They're going to be even worse you off because they're going to be out in the cold. So this year, the year 2000, when this new program start, you might have a lot of deaths between the homeless people. They don't have nowhere to go and I hear is December is supposed to take being taken over by the Salvation Army, just include all the time. That's that's what I heard. The one, the three sites that they have a c and d are going to be moved into one side of 250 man building. That's what I hear and they're going to be really screen and scrutinized to come inside these places. So it's going to make it difficult for the guys that Have drug-addicted problem that need help need to be cleaned up, get job and I heard, they have to have a job to into the program. So that's going to be another problem. What about the guy that's unemployed. He's uneducated. He can't get a job. He has psychological problems. What about this guy? What do you do for him? So they need to be plans done for each and everybody because some guys are in a slump. They're not all bad. Some of these guys sometimes come out here on the street. Couldn't pay the rent for one month. They've been working for seven years. Couldn't pay their rent. Got put some out and well, now they're homeless, that's part of a problem. That's not part of a system. That's part of a problem because America itself has no plans for the homeless. They just walk over the poor, the poor stay poor and the rich get richer. So there has to be a plan. In America for the homeless people. I've traveled across the country and I've worked with homeless people from New York to California. Nia and everywhere I go. Now, they're turned down places where they sleep safely and put them in the places where they can sleep dangerously, putting them into places. Where here's a guy that doesn't do the things that this guy does and he's fault Fallen a victim to what he don't like, you know, he has to sleep with the guys as using drugs and alcohol and he's just homeless because of a situation, not because of alcohol or drug addiction. So, you know, you got people that's been Burnout out here people as lost family lost homes because of taxes. So this different situations with different people. So and I think that mayor white himself need to come to a coalition for the homeless and sit down with the people that coordinate, these homeless shelters, and see if they can come up with a better idea for people that are not under these restrictions of alcohol and drugs and people are not nefarious people. They're good people. They're just poor and I don't know. I just I think America is self with as much money as America had as a much money. Is this spending on prisons? Ohio itself, has 31 prisons in the state. There's 368 per 100,000 black men and poor white men in this country incarcerated at one point six million and that rises in 68 percent each year. So we did the building more prisons for the rich people to get rich or we're building. More prisons to make Society safer. It's not making Society safer. What it's doing. Taking poor white men and poor black men and incarcerating them for a length of time and they become out angry. Now, they're angry when they come out here again. Instead of working with their addictions. Here's a guy, he's still a loaf of bread and a pack of meat, not even two dollars. You give them 5 to 15 years economically, that's not right. You make three thirty three thousand to 60,000 off of that man. Each year, depending on his medical condition. When you could have took the same 33,000 and put them in college, same 60,000, and put them in a rehab. Same 14,000 and put him in a job rehabilitation program. So we're talking about America using their money. Anyway, they want instead of using it for the people should be for the people and by the people that's why each state should become a well and you educate yourself. We're how much each prisoner gets? How much the state make something out of what? I get two figures from the figures come from a national statistics. You can go to the local library and find these statistics and it shows you where each state how much they pay for each man. Now, depending on his medical condition, but you got guys in the blind is addicted. You have guys that have high blood diabetes, you all. Kind of care around the the clock, that takes a lot of different pharmaceutical medicines. So depends on his medical condition is anywhere from 12,000 to 60,000 a year. Depending some guys take heart pills in there. So you

took the unit and then you have to pay the cost of his cell that maintenance of that cell cost money, the maintenance of the god cost money, but they're making find salary each year. So the prisoners should look. Look live well, but now they're taking all the clothes out of prison. All the ways out of prison. All the education out of prison. I know in the state of New Jersey, they have no more Rehabilitation. They have no more education. So now it's just doing time. So if you so now, the prisoner don't have anything to rely on. He has no network. No inmate father. Know what you just told you. I these things that were profound for decisions have been taken away. Now, they need to consult. Live with the state. So now they can have something for the prison. They have nothing for the prison's, no more, not saying that, that is the first point. The first point is for the poor. Let's get the poor. The street. That's it. Can we do that as a people? You mean to tell me you got Brown Stadium, just put up to hundreds of million dollars. Jacobs feel right here. You got the Gund Arena. You have, all these different places being taken up and now you tell me that you can't do nothing for the part. That's ridiculous. My thing is that we must Come to a call. Listen to let people know that the poor comes first in this country. The rich always get richer and the poor get poorer. I believe that back in the day when people were struggling for the poor people. There's nobody coming out for the poor people anymore. The poor people even people that sent home. These people here are in homes, are just a week away from being out here. If nobody never I took a month and I stayed out here with the boys. I understand the whole situation. I slept out here with the poor. I8r him to pull. You have to break bread with a point understand that this court. Something different than us. Just coming out here and said, let's break free. This is larger than just giving the meal as long as it brings. The loaf of bread is larger than giving me. Some juice is larger than coming here. Giving this guy some clothes. This guy needs help. Then he housing and the education and Rehabilitation. They need help for drug addiction and all these other things and this is not happening because we don't care right now at this point giving the state. Make this mistake of the political ways of dealing with these problems without a coalition. You have have. Nope. Nope. Nope, nope, nope, nope, nope, nope, nope, nope, nope, nope, nope, nope, nope, nope, nope. Nope. Go, listen, so, you can raise economic base and you can raise these bases. If you have a coalition, you can raise these bases. If you have a fun drive, you can raise these bases. If you have something to fall back on, excuse me, giving people something to sell. They sell the Grapevine paper. That's not enough. That doesn't work. You have to have something better. I'm a bigger economic base. You can't, you can't buy houses with no money, right? You can't buy houses with books. You can't buy housing with clothes, can't buy houses. When food you have to buy houses with money. And that's what we need. You need to buy houses. You need to buy building. So once these people have buildings and they cleaned up and then put back in the workforce. There's a different situation. What you want to do is turn human lives around and these are human beings and a lot of people forget about the human beings that are in these situations because we're not in this situation if we're not in this situation, we know. Look at the situation. The way they do, we look at the situation differently. We look at it. Like, oh, well, that's just another guy just don't want to work. Oh, that's just another guy that there's just been goofing off of drugs or that's just another guy that he's just lazy but that's not necessarily story. All the time. Be a lot of guys that are here because they were forced into situations. Yeah, a lot of guys that are here because they were forced into problem. That a lot of guys that were here because they were forced into homelessness because they were poor that because they were lazy, because then you have that base to pay that rent. Now, the housing is going up, but the job pay, his job Pain, still the same. So now we still got men working for 550, sweat, and blood, and they can't afford housing like that. That's impossible. So, if these things, never go up and we and we call ourself a Something's wrong. Something's wrong. If we can lay around millions of dollars. We're sitting around being the dollars. Right now, these buildings done, the Rena Jacobs Field, the new stadium BP building Tower City all dealers. All this is billions and billions of dollars. If one person took one Corliss and went through seven buildings. We can open up one building overnight. We can change this Destiny overnight. But the care has to be. There is a thought that has to be a concern as the beauty of everybody hasn't happened. But somebody open that door on one of those Avenue, then it start cooking. I listened to that Donald Trump this morning. He's talking about Vernon. Here's Donald Trump big man in New York and New Jersey. Atlantic City's is base homelessness in his town. He's almost ridiculous. You got 32, 32, 32 casinos, in Atlantic City. Now, how can, how can these people be homeless? Unless they're all drug addicts and I can't go with that. The next County over. They have to close down their shelter. They had to close down this shelter because they don't have enough best base. They're not getting paid enough money for East Bay. You see. So how do we, how do we judge that? How do we deal with that? Who's taking the money? If I'm paying this guy, the director eighty thousand dollars a year and parent his his his assistant 75. And the in the place is only getting 225,000 so that only needs two thousand for the people. So that's the problem. These should be a point job base salary pair. I'm not saying they shouldn't get paid, but they shouldn't be paid 75 and 80 thousand unless you have that kind of money to put into the situation. I mean you give a guy 80 thousand dollars a year and he's not doing nothing. That's ridiculous. We're talking about giving a guy eighty thousand dollars a year and he's saving lives. You got 35 thousand dollars. Yeah, he's turning over rocks. Let me see his house. Tours over something.
