In August 2022, American University Staff Union members participated in a week-long strike for higher wages that began on August 22 and ended on August 26. The strike ended when the union and the University reached a labor deal. On August 26, 2022 American University Staff Union members, their allies, and the freshman students walked out of convocation and marched through Friedheim Quadrangle and through campus to the President's Office building. This collection includes over 70 photographs of the strike, oral history interviews with AU staff and students participating in the strike, video recordings and of 70 photographs showing the strike, and photographs of pins and digital copies of signs, flyers, and posters.
