Humanities Truck Community Archive
On September 27, 2024, the Humanities Truck attended Art All Night 2024 in Mount Pleasant. The Truck collaborated with Nancy Shia and showed select works from her “Places and Faces of Mount Pleasant 1973-1993” collection. Along with Nancy Shia’s photographs, the Humanities Truck team invited folks to make drawn or written responses to prompt cards about their experiences and memories in Mount Pleasant. The cards were then hung on string for other neighbors to view. The Humanities Truck team included director Dan Kerr; graduate fellows Claire Berlin, Madison Weber, and Ethan Norris-Weber; and community fellow Angie Whitehurst. Event attendees were invited to share their oral histories of Mount Pleasant and what it means to them. Interview participants included some multigenerational neighborhood residents. This digital collection includes video oral history interviews, digitized interview transcripts, and photographs from the event.
