Peace Corps Community Archive
The Friends of Colombia Archives was established by the Friends of Colombia (FOC), an organization for returned Peace Corps volunteers who served in Colombia, to document their lives and careers during and after their service in the Peace Corps. The files contain organizational records of FOC (1988 to present) including biographies of all Peace Corps volunteers in Colombia (1961-1980), correspondence, and newsletters as well as materials donated by individual members. These materials consist of interviews, letters, and photographs. The collection includes numerous notable materials documenting Peace Corps volunteers' experiences and projects. "Film for Action" is a Peace Corps documentary project comprised of four distinct films that focus on community development projects in four diverse villages around Colombia. The film was produced and directed by John Greven and Cliff Witt, who both worked as rural community development volunteers in Colombia (RCD64) during their tours. The films were used to illustrate examples of community development work to Colombians, and inspire similar projects to be taken on around the country. The four villages depicted are Tumaco, Arbeláez, Granadillo, and Pesca. William Dennis Grubb is one of the first and youngest individuals to join the Peace Corps. During his service as a Peace Corps Volunteer, he participated in the Colombia Rural Community Development Program. Grubb worked primarily in Zipacon, Cundinamarca, Colombia.
